Early Victorian Buffet

A good example of early Victorian design featuring a gable backboard and long top (6.5 ft) resting on two single door pedestals having arched panels flanked by corinthian capitals. Left pedestal has cellarette drawer with tin lining. Made around 1840.

Georgian Mahogany Buffet

Georgian mahogany buffet made around 1820 with pine secondary wood. Two pedestals with geometric panels and cross-banded veneers framing single doors supporting a cross-banded top with three frieze drawers and swelled center. Left pedestal has tin-lined cellarette drawer.

Oak Buffet With Leaded Glass

An interesting oak buffet in two parts. Top section has leaded glass panes and mirrored back resting on tall cabriole legs that terminate in paw feet leaving room for ample serving / food prep surface. Base has cavernous cupboard and drawer storage with matching legs. Made around 1910. Found in Quebec.

Early Butternut Buffet

Mid 19th century butternut buffet made for McGuiness House in Glengarry Country. Surface is an aged, golden finish that makes butternut look its best. Maker is Brooks.

Canadian Georgian Buffet

Simple and elegant Georgian buffet made in New Brunswick c.1820. Mahogany with pine secondary wood. Fine turnings, early surface and strong figured mahogany add character to a functional and gorgeous piece.

Victorian Country Buffet

Contemporary buffet made by local cabinetmaker David Martignago for own use in 1983 at age 22. A throwback to Victorian times when colonial woodworkers with formal cabinetry training spent time designing single pieces, selecting good timber and finished every detail to the best of their ability. Ash with bookmatched burl walnut panels.

Canadian Mission Oak Buffet

Impressive Canadian Arts & Crafts buffet made by the North American Furniture Company in Owen Sound c.1910. The central areas are faced with well selected quarter cut oak and period hardware. Each flanking cabinet has a subtle pyramid shape and is encased by elephant style legs. Spectacular original finish.

Chippendale Oak Buffet

Dense quarter cut oak grain, pleasing proportions, skillful carvings, restrained decorations and giant ball and claw feet make this buffet a great draw for my shop and a special piece to consider for your home. Unsigned but probably by North American Furniture Co, Owen Sound.
